So here's the spot on the forum to showcase all of the really cool Partha painting you've been working on. If you have some figures you want to show the rest of the Parthaholics, this is the place to do it. With forty years of history, there has to be thousands of painted Partha figures out there that people want to show off, plus new ones that are being painted every day. Don't restrict yourselves to what is in the current catalogue, but anything and everything Partha is fair game and we want to take a gander! Single figures or armies, we want to see it all!

Just try to keep the pictures a manageable size, maybe 500 x 500 pixels or so. Post as many angles though as you'd like and show us what you've been working on!

Here's a CS-15 mounted elf, and an ES-13 Assassin, both in the process of being based this afternoon.

These are some great figures and I really like the color scheme on the horse, especially the darker stockings. They are going to be great when they're finished!

One thing, on a technical note, when you post a new figure, create a new topic under the Bring Out Your Partha heading with a new subject, the description of the figures or their codes.

Speaking of thousands of RP figures, I have about 5,000 in my game room. Where would you like me to start? :)

I'm the guy who bought the "Legions of the Petal Throne" line from RP, back in Ye Olden Dayes...

Do you sell those old figures then? Some of them are extremely cool! Do you cast from their production molds?

No, sorry; the line went to new owners in 1992, and have been off the market now for over a decade. Before that, I sold them, and ran a lot of demo games with them as well as in our games out at Prof. Barker's. I did cast them from the original production molds, which I had gotten in 1982.

There indeed were some very cool figures in the line! My favorites are the ones by Tom Meier, which have the buckles sculpted at the ends of all the armor straps - a bit of work to paint, but really worth the effort!

We still game with them, too! :)

I liked the Mu'ugalavyani; for better or worse mine went to another club member a few years ago. He just ran a Tekumel game at Huzzah in May, though, so it was for a good cause. Looks like I'm about to absorb a couple of sample units from my brother, just for the classic minis games I want to do next year...

And when you say 5,000, is that 5,000 PAINTED minis? If that's the case, and quite honestly, even if they are unpainted but out in some kind of displayable form, you really need to take some pictures and share them!

Oh, dear! And the Red-hats are my favorites, too. 'First of the First', the pikemen from 'Victorious in Vimhula' - First legion of the First Palace - have literally never failed me on the game table since I started building them in 1978. People are scared of them, as they never fail morale checks and are relentless on the attack. I gave them the deadly Northstar wire pikes with their very sharp points, so players are very careful with these thirty year old figures.

Must get some photos for you! :)

The vast majority are painted - I've been at this for over thirty-five years. I was first introduced to Prof. Barker back in 1976, and asked to paint figures for him; about half of his Tekumel figures are ones I painted for him. I got my collection started through him - his habit was to buy twice as many figures as he needed, had me paint all of them, and then he'd keep the half of the ones he liked and I got to keep the other half as my fee. All of the original figures are painted - about 4,500 - and about half of the new 28mm ones are done - about 300 figures; I really need to do an inventory, with photos!!! I have yet to paint any of the newest 3-D printed ones that a friend has been doing and sending to me, which is why I'm currently on vacation!

My original goal, back in the late 1970s, was to build all of the possible units in the 1:100 ratio that was the common norm, back in those days, and so there are a lot of figures on the shelves. We standardized on RP figures out at the Professor's very early on, pretty much as soon as the figures came out, as they were so much better then most of what was on the market at the time. They still look good on the table, too, and amaze my players. You can see a lot of them in the photos on the Photobucket page I have - use the link to my blog that the RP guys have been kind enough to put on the home page...

I'm definitely going to go search for your photos. If you have any pictures though that look particularly impressive, you really should post a few of them here, just to make people go ooh and aah.

Actually, would you mind posting a link to your photobucket?

Sorry! Photobucket baffles me; the link I gave is a straight cut-and-paste from the actual page. Try the link off my blog - you can get to that page from the RP home page. Let me know what you get, and we'll try to get this fixed...

Huh! Even more baffling; when I copy and paste the link I gave in the post intro my web browser, it take me right to the Photobucket page. I will confess to not being very 'web-literate', but this just baffles me.

At the moment, I have my Gary Con 2015 photos on the front page; click on the sub-albums to get to the lead... :)

FROM MOONGLUM, WHO ODDLY ENOUGH STUCK THIS MESSAGE IN YOUR POST. SORRY!!
So finally got it pulled up, by starting at photobucket.com on your link and taking it out to library. Now I've just got to go look at them all, should keep me busy for a while.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong area for this... I here am new.

I've had this one for ages, and o lyrics just rediscovered I had it.

Anyone know how much this goes for these days? I'm not really looking to sell it, but I am just curious.
