KC-4198 Hackmaster Halfling Rogue was created by Moonglum

So here's another one I just finished, a Halfling rogue, sculpted by Jim Johnson. Really like this figure, a simple figure, not too much as far as extra bags and stuff, but still has that dagger behind him ready to strike.

Anyhoos, enjoy!

Incredible brushwork and color selection, as always!

I read your article on faces. Very enjoyable. I think my eyes are too far gone to attempt it, even with magnification, but your painting is so inspiring, I just might have to try!

Thanks very much MisterFrauBlucher!

I would say not to give up hope on your own eyes, magnification has done wonders for me and I'm just using a very cheap less than 10.00 USD optivisor that I got from Harbor Freight. I'm blind as a bat myself.

Painting eyes is really a matter of practice more than anything else, and one suggestion might be to "start big". Grab a larger figure, such as a giant or even just a larger scaled human size figure to start experimenting on a larger surface area. And then just do it often. Use your paint desk as support, leaning your arms against it to reduce shaking/movement. And just don't give up. Keep painting. The whole thing about painting for about 95% of those that paint is that they are painting for fun, so as long as you're enjoying yourself, you really shouldn't be too worried and just have a good time. It's a very nice hobby for somebody who likes peace and quiet. I tell my wife that painting for me is akin to yoga for her.
