Inconsistent scales? was created by Vaeldroth
So how does one tell what the scales are for the figures? i've noticed that the Partha minis from about 1985-on are about 25mm toe to eye, where before 1985 is 25mm toe to top of head. The Chaos Wars figures appear to be mixed units of varying eras. How do you tell what's what? Some of the earlier figs look stupidly small next to their later counterparts.

We intend to [eventually] include info on the height of each of the figures in our webstore and in catalogs... there are some other items that need to be worked on first, but this is on the to-do list.
When we put together the sets of figures, we are reviewing them next to one another to ensure that they are generally within scale of one another. We do allow for some variance, as not all people are the same height and build.
The intention in Chaos Wars is that an average human fighter is approx. 25mm to the top of their head. Larger figures would be used for the Heroes, Characters, and Shock Troops. When there is a dramatic difference in size, they will be used for a separate race or army.
If we do our job correctly, the figures sold within the same Chaos Wars SKU #s should group together in units that look realistic, though not all the exact same height.
I hope this helps,
Jacob

I started doing some scale comarisons and notice over all that Ral Partha along with Superior Miniatures, Metal Magic, Grenadier and even Old Glory all seem to match up pretty well. There are some differences depending on sculptor and era they were made but when you get them on the table top, nobody will notice.
